An Ankeny man arrested late Monday night at his ex-wife’s residence in Newton bonded out of the Jasper County Jail today (Wednesday). Court records show 35 year old Jared Wilson Camp posted cash bonds totaling 1-thousand 600-dollars. He’s charged with 3rd Degree Harassment, 1st Offense OWI, and 5th Degree Criminal Mischief. An April 5th court appearance is pending. According to Newton Police, Camp’s ex-wife notified them around 10:15 Monday night that he had been calling and texting her non-stop for weeks, calling 125 times per day and texting even more than that. The Police report says she told officers she was afraid he was going to show up at her Bungalow Court residence unannounced. About 30 minutes later, officers responded back to the ex-wife’s house. An apparently intoxicated Camp had arrived there and was pounding on the door When officers got there, the Ankeny man was reportedly attempting to leave in his vehicle. The police stopped him. Camp reportedly admitted to drinking, had an odor of alcohol, and failed field sobriety tests. His initial breath test showed a blood alcohol content twice the limit at point 1-6-5. Officers discovered Camp had urinated on his ex-wife’s front porch, leaving a stain. He also damaged the front porch’s glass screen door. The estimated cost to repair the damage is 300-dollars.
