January is cervical cancer month, and if you’re not getting regular exams, you could be putting your life at risk.
Cervical cancer is one of those types of cancer that often doesn’t show signs until it’s progressed.
And with any cancer, the earlier it’s detected, the better.
Anyone with a cervix is at risk, and it is most like to show up in people who are 30 years old or older.
It can also spread to other parts of the body.
Fortunately, if you find it early, it’s treatable.
And there’s a vaccine that can prevent the most common cause.
Essentia Health’s Dr. Michaela Heller joined the Morning Show to talk live with Emily Welker about why the vaccine is worth getting even if you’re not a kid anymore.
