DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police is investigating multiple crashes involving a horse that took place on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County.
According to authorities, the crashes involving the horse occurred at 3:31 a.m. on Saturday, June 15 on both the northbound and southbound of I-85 at the 42-mile marker in Dinwiddie County.
A tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on I-85 when it grazed a horse that was on the interstate, and ended up on the right shoulder of the interstate.
According to authorities, a second tractor-trailer traveling northbound in the left lane of I-85 then struck the horse. The tractor-trailer then went off the interstate to the left, struck several trees, crossed the southbound lanes of I-85 before hitting the guard rail and additional trees.
Two additional vehicles also struck the horse.
There were no reported injuries, according to Virginia State Police.
