HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Looking to sample local wines while munching on a charcuterie plate on a warm summer day? Kings Dominion will be hosting a Food and Wine Festival on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in August.
Guests will be able to enjoy wine from local wineries, including Chateau Morrisette, Prince Michel, Barboursville, Williamsburg Winery, Rockbridge and Stinson Vineyards.
A spokesperson said wines can be paired with items from a limited-time menu, including a charcuterie board with lavender honey, a flight of three spreads and flatbreads that includes whipped herb goat cheese, a fondu dipping option, and a sweets plate with chocolate cherries, figs, and wrapped dates.
While enjoying food and wine, guests will be able to listen to live music performances. Lawn games will also be hosted.
The festival will be held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Aug. 2 through Aug. 25, except for Aug. 23, when the park will be closed.
The event begins at 2 p.m. and will run into the late evening in accordance with the park schedule, according to a spokesperson.
