ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — The trial against a former Albuquerque Police Department (APD) officer accused of dragging a disabled man out of Target on Coors continued Thursday.


New Mexico law enforcement increased electronic searches for second year in a row

Kenneth Skeens is being accused of using excessive force against Matthew McManus while he was at the self checkout trying to buy a bike. The state argues Skeens use force to pull McManus out of the Target without lawful authority and making false claims about the situation on his reports. The defense says that Target has had a history of bike thefts.

Detective Troy Simpson investigated the excessive force accusations against Skeens. Detective Simpson told the court that his investigation did not find any evidence that McManus had committed any crime.
