HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Holyoke Public Schools are launching a pilot program for those interested in earning certificates for the health or manufacturing field.

According to the Holyoke Public Schools, the new program called “Greater Holyoke Vocational Training After Dark” will offer classes to students 16 years and up as well as adults. The classes will be held at the Dean Tech Campus from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays beginning May 28th for the following:

The Health Assisting track will allow students to earn certifications in OSHA-10, CPR for Health Providers, and First Aid, all of which are endorsed by the American Heart Association. The curriculum will cover a broad range of essential skills including patient care, medical terminology, infection control, and equipment handling. 

The Advanced Manufacturing track will allow students to earn an Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing certificate from the school, along with OSHA-10 certification. This track will focus on teaching basic measurement, machining processes, quality control, and workplace communication skills.

Those interested must apply online as space is limited.

“This initiative underscores Dean Tech’s commitment to broadening access to education and empowering individuals with the skills needed for career success in high-demand fields,” said Dean CTE Director Joel McAuliffe.
